Simple safeguards can help you to protect your accounts and save you from losing your hard earned money. A small list of safeguards is provided below:

General:

  1. Inform us when you change your
    1. Name
    2. Address
    3. Contact Number
    4. Email address
  2. Check your statement/passbook regularly and immediately inform your home branch for any discrepancy.
  3. In the event of your cheque leave(s)/ book, passbook, is lost or stolen, immediately inform your Home Branch of the bank,so that suitable measures can be taken to prevent misuse of the same.
  4. Never respond to emails that request personal information. Kindly note that the Bank/RBI/Income Tax Department will never ask for details about your Account / PINs or Passwords.
  5. Please operate your account at frequent intervals .
  6. After submitting any written communication to the bank, always ensure to collect acknowledgement from the Bank officials. This will help you for future reference.
  7. Change and memorize your PIN, password and other security information received by you.
  8. Do not disclose your card, PIN, password or other security information to anyone else.
  9. Change your PIN/Password at regular intervals. 
  10. Do not introduce any person to the Bank who is not personally known to you for the purpose of opening account.
  11. Do not keep your passbook, cheque book, ATM/Debit card together.
  12. Always maintain the minimum balance as specified by the bank.
  13. Note down account numbers, details of FDR,locker number,etc.separately.
  14. Pay Interest, Installments, Locker Rent and other dues on time.
  15. Avail Standing Instruction facility for repeated transactions.
  16. Take necessary precaution to ensure that account is not used for money laundering or for any fraudulent transaction.
  17. Do not record your specimen signature either on passbook or on cheque book

Communication:

  1. Give a written instruction in case you wish to stop payment of a cheque or cancel standing instruction or a direct debit. We recommend that you inform the originator of the direct debit also, viz, utility companies, etc.
  2. Ensure to register your Mobile number with us and get SMS Alerts to keep track of any transactions in your account.
  3. Register your email id with us.
  4. Please write legibly and avoid overwriting .

Cheque book and Cheque leaves:

  1. Ensure that the cheque book is kept in a safe place.
  2. Ensure that the name of the payee on cheque is clearly mentioned.
  3. Draw a line through unused space on the cheque to avoid any unauthorised additions.
  4. Make sure that the date is written correctly and that the cheque is signed.
  5. As far as possible, issue crossed / account payee cheques.
  6. Avoid overwriting on cheques.
  7. Do not keep signed blank cheque leaves.
  8. Before dropping cheque in the cheque drop box, please ensure that at the back of the cheque the account number and mobile number are mentioned.
  9. While tendering any clearing cheque at the branch for collection, obtain acknowledgement from the bank officials.

Grievances:

  1. Complaints / grievances should be reported to the Home Branch as soon as possible. This will help us to get your complaint / grievance redressed expeditiously.
  2. You can send your complaint / grievance through E-mail of your Home Branch.
